Offering more than two decades of experience in criminal law and civil litigation, Hunter Whitestone represents clients who want to achieve the best possible outcome when confronted with going to court. He concentrates his Northern Virginia practice in criminal defense, traffic and personal injury work.

Often, Hunter is able to negotiate favorable resolutions without trial, utilizing the respect and trust he has earned from judges and prosecutors. When it has been necessary to defend freedom and protect his client’s rights, however, Hunter has litigated jury trials all over Northern Virginia including Fairfax, Arlington, Prince William, Fauquier, and Warren counties and Washington, D.C.

Never giving up, Hunter recently took a DWI case all the way to the Supreme Court of Virginia, finally winning the case for his client and establishing an important legal precedent for defense lawyers and DWI defendants around the state in the process. Representative Matters:

2016-Hunter Whitestone won a dismissal of a change of Allowing an Unlicensed Person to Drive arguing that the Commonwealth failed to prove the vehicle owner knew why the driver was suspended.

2016-Hunter Whitestone convinced the Commonwealth to drop charges of Domestic Assault and Battery against a husband, after his wife claimed she was assaulted by him, but later changed her story.

2016-Hunter Whitestone won a dismissal of a charge of disorderly conduct from a Judge where his client cursed at a neighbor, but successfully argued that his client never made any threats.

2016-Hunter Whitestone obtained a settlement of $100,000 from an insurance company whose insured rear-ended his client, causing her significant injuries. Mr. Whitestone was able to convince the health insurance company to reduced its lien so that the client was able to get a significant payout

2016-Hunter Whitestone convinced the Commonwealth to reduce a charge of Driving on Suspended to a No Valid Operator’s License and a suspended sentence. Mr. Whitestone showed that he would be able to prove that the client’s driving occurred on a mall parking-lot which was private property.
